Beginner Jewelry Class FAQs
Thank you for your interest in my Beginner Jewelry Design Workshops. Below, I've provided answers to my most frequently asked questions. If you have a question that you don't see answered, please feel free to email me directly.
Calendar/Scheduling
The class calendar link is listed on your voucher under “redemption instructions” and is also available by clicking here.Classes are usually scheduled 1 - 2 months at a time, with new sections added on a rolling basis, so please don’t be discouraged if there are currently no classes listed for the month you want to attend. Please check back closer to the month and they will be posted.
Class Size
I try to keep my classes at 6 - 7 students per class - to create a more comfortable atmosphere, and allow everyone to receive personalized attention. If you want to make sure that you and your friends can take the class together, please register as soon as you can.If you see that the class is full, but your friend has already booked, please contact me right away - I do make exceptions, and normally have a waiting list as well.
Class Location/Address
All classes are held at the Modnitsa Atelier Studio - 85 Broad Street, conveniently located 1 block from the Whitehall Street Subway station for R train and Bowling Green Station for the 4 & 5 trains.
All vouchers/registrations/class bookings are subject to a 24 hour cancellation policy. Since I keep my classes small, I want to be sure that everyone gets a chance to take the class, so please be courteous to me and your fellow attendees by giving me enough time to refill the spots. If you cannot make the date you’ve scheduled, please call or email me with any changes at anytime up to 24 hours in advance of your scheduled class. When less than 24 hour notice is given, your voucher/class admission is subject to forfeiture.
Class Days/Times
Classes are typically held weekdays, several days per week - usually with lunch hour and/or evening sections. Additionally, I have select Saturday afternoon classes available (a few times a year). Please see my class calendar for current dates and times.
Redeeming your Voucher/Booking a Class
On my class calendar, all Beginner 1 Hour Classes are labeled as either an “Earrings Class” or a “Necklace Class” - depending on which jewelry piece you'll learn how to make. The 2 Hour Class is a combined session for both Earrings and a Necklace.
Tools & Materials
Jewelry making tools are provided for use during the class, and you will have the opportunity to purchase them at the end of the class if you wish. Alternatively, you can reserve them for purchase during class registration, and they will be waiting for you when you arrive for your class. You can also purchase tools and toolkits in my online store.
In addition to tools, your class admission includes all the necessary silver findings for constructing your pieces (e.g. wire, string, crimp beads, clasps, chain and ear wires).
Stones, Beads and Crystals
Stones are not included in the price of the class, but I have many stones in stock and available for purchase in my studio on the day of your class.Stone packs start at $10 and include semi-precious stones (including but not limited to amethyst, aquamarine, turquoise, citrine, opal, jade, lapis lazuli, rose quartz, labradorite) along with crystals and beads.
Private Classes
In addition to group classes, I also offer private workshops and classes for one-one-one learning. You can learn more by visiting my Private Jewelry Design Class page.
